Integro
Key partner Integro is situated in the Northeast of Bulgaria. Integro functions independently from Spolu and develops its own strategies and approaches to empower and unite Roma grassroots in Bulgaria, focusing on Roma Identity & Youth, Networking Grassroots Representation, Grassroots women and Mother Centres. In 2008, the organisation proved to be strong and became in fact a ‘trademark’ for Roma grassroots empowerment and mobilisation.
Within the framework of the ‘Strengthening Programme’ of Spolu, Integro Association Bulgaria (‘Integro’) is playing a key role in Bulgaria and in Europe. In Bulgaria, Integro is a national player and allied with a number of other Roma Organisations into a NGO coalition. The Executive Director of Integro, Lili Makaveeva, is the Chair of the Board of ERGO and co-headed the Working Group on Mobilisation and Empowerment. Also, Integro functions as a Regional Resource Organisation (RRO) assisting Roma organisations in Turkey, Bosnia and Macedonia.
